The family of William Robert “Bob” Giles is saddened to announce his passing on September 23, 2026, at the age of 88 years old, at Diamond House in Warman, SK where he resided. Bob gradually declined over several years from living with Alzheimer's Disease.

Bob is lovingly survived by his daughters Deb (Steve) Jeffers and Heather West; grandchildren, Teegan and Myles Jeffers and Connor and Makinley West; one brother, Roy (Marjorie) Giles and one sister, Dorothy (Richard) Hazel; sister-in-law, Agnes (Mark) Porter and brother-in-law, Richard (Peggy) Sarada; several nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. Bob was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine (Sarada); his parents, Olive (Young) and William Giles; mother-in-law, Mary Sarada, brother-in-laws, Bill and Johnny Sarada, sister-in-law, Lillian (Sarada).

Bob was born in Prince Albert, SK and grew up there and in the Red Deer Hill area. Bob made his parents proud by learning to play the piano, playing the trombone in band and having the perfect attendance at Sunday school. After graduating from high school he began working for the CIBC which took him to many destinations throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Bob met the love of his life, Lorraine, in Regina and they were married in 1962. Bob and Lorraine's daughters were born in 1963 and 1971. Bob and Lorraine shared a fulfilling 52 years together until Lorraine's passing in August 2014. Several years after, Bob met Rae Zurowski and they formed a loving companionship.

Bob was truly a remarkable man, the utmost gentleman, generous and kind, interested in others, a sharp dresser and always had a smile on his face. As a husband, father and grandfather, Bob made sure he was always supportive and very much involved, not ever wanting to miss out what was going on in their lives. He was fortunate to retire early in his life.

Over the years of working at CIBC, Bob mentored many employees as a manager, particularly young men starting their careers, including his son-in-law, Steve. Together, with Lorraine, they welcomed people into their home as gracious hosts. They formed beautiful lifelong friendships with many employees and customers along the way. His daughters have also been fortunate to be part of many of these friendships.

Throughout Bob's life, he enjoyed curling, golfing, crossword puzzles, wine making (and sipping), music, news, and watching all kinds of sports. In his retirement years, he and Lorraine went on many adventures to British Columbia, staying in communities where they would golf and explore. Bob was also very involved in the Funseekers (CIBC retirement group). Bob took pride in barbecuing and cooking meat. He was always eager to assist Lorraine “Buns” in the kitchen, punching dough, pinching perogies or rolling cabbage rolls.

A Celebration of Life to honour Bob will happen later this fall; notice to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Saskatchewan Inc.

The family want to acknowledge Dr. Cyprian Enwani for providing Bob with the best of care for the past 30 years. Also, the family extend their gratitude to the Diamond House physicians, nurses, care team and all of the other exceptional staff who supported him and his family during his time there, especially during “Bobby's” final days.
