Walter Enns

June 26, 1937 — September 8, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Enns on September 8, 2025.

Walter was born on June 26, 1937, in Hepburn, Saskatchewan, the third youngest of eight sons. He grew up in Mullingar before moving to Martensville in 1956, where he met Mary, the love of his life. Walter and Mary were married on September 27th, 1958, and together they built a loving family. In 1959, they welcomed their son Dale, in 1961 their daughter Brenda, and in 1966 their son Sheldon.

After a brief time in Alberta, Walter and Mary returned to Saskatchewan and settled again in Martensville. Before moving to the farm in 1976, Walter served his community as a town councilor for many years and as Deputy Mayor for a brief period, demonstrating his commitment to community.

In 1976, they moved to a farm just north of Martensville, where they farmed for many years. These were happy times for Walter, as farming brought him great joy and purpose. When they retired from farming, Walter and Mary moved to Meeting Lake, where they enjoyed many wonderful years together.

Walter loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, feeding birds and rabbits, boating, travelling with friends, camping, and volunteering at Bible camp in his early years.

Walter is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Enns; his children, Brenda and Sheldon; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his son, Dale Enns.

Walter will be remembered as a caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, hard work, and devotion to his family and to God.

Walter's Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in the Martensville Mission Church, #6 5th Avenue North, Martensville, SK. Interment to take place at the Leask Cemetery, Leask, SK.
