IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theresa 'Thea' Johanna
Hoenmans
April 12, 1926 – February 2, 2026
The family of Theresa Johanna (Thea) Hoenmans are deeply saddened to announce the death of our beloved mum, grandma, and great grandma on February 3, 2026, at The Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon.
Thea was born to Joseph and Hedwig (Hogg) Langen at St.Elizabeth Hospital in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, on April 12, 1926. She was the sixth child in a family of 16 children. She lived with the family in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, until she married Fred Hoenmans Jr. on September 8, 1947.
She was an avid curler, softball and tennis player. Thea and Fred had five children: Pat, Terry, Nancy, Bill and Susan. Prior to her marriage, Thea had a career with the Bank of Montreal. She resigned from her job when Pat was born, and returned to it when Susan went to school.
When mum and dad retired, they went on many wonderful trips, some of which included: excursions to Europe, visits with family in Germany, a farm/ranch journey to Australia and New Zealand, and many drives to the USA in the winter. A trip to Ecuador included surviving an earthquake in Quito!
A retirement to Summerland in the Okanagan Valley happened in the early Nineties. They hosted many family visits until Fred passed away in 2004. After a time (and a brief illness), Thea sold the condo and moved to Courtenay, BC, to live with Pat and his wife Kathleen for a few years. She then resided in an apartment until a move to Berwick in Comox. After a heart attack, Thea moved to Airdrie, Alberta, to live with Bill, wife Marj and boys. After a few years, she moved back to Saskatchewan to live at Aspira in Saskatoon, bringing her close to Susan and husband Cliff, Nancy and husband Bert of Warman, and Terry and wife Mary Ann of Melfort.
Thea is survived by all of her children, nine of her ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are: sister Lillian of Everett, Washington, and brothers Dick of Regina, SK, Dave of Penticton, BC, Henry of High River, AB, and Mark of Calgary, AB.
After cremation, Thea will be laid to rest with her husband Fred at Canyon View Cemetery in Summerland, BC.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Mrs. Hoenman's care and arrangements.
