In Loving Memory of Sheryl Jean Murphy
Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Sheryl Jean Murphy - born in Star City, Saskatchewan - passed away on October 4, 2025, at 11:30 p.m. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Lynn, Karmella, and Travis; her granddaughter, Phalyn; and numerous brothers, sisters, and relatives.
She will also be deeply missed within the Jehovah’s Witness community. Her faith was very important to her - it guided her through life and gave her peace right to the end.
One of Sheryl’s most notable qualities was her work ethic. From a very young age, she stepped in to help raise her many brothers and sisters - a role that prepared her for anything in life. She went on to work as a switchboard operator at SaskTel, ran a family farm and business, and later built a successful real estate career that began in Melfort before she relocated to Saskatoon. Even in her final years, Sheryl never wanted to be seen as “lazy”; she insisted on maintaining her independence and doing everything herself.
Sheryl was also known for her big heart. She was always equipped with a greeting card, a small gift, or a tray of baked goods to show her love. Even more special was the presence she gave to those around her - lending a hand, offering encouragement, or simply being there when someone needed her most. She was loyal, loving, and generous with her time.
She will also be remembered for her lighter traits - her love of pink, love songs, and anything floral; her natural gift for conversation; and her love of clothes as she was almost always “dressed to the nines.”
The family will gather privately to remember Sheryl at a later date.
Sheryl, we love you dearly.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Sheryl Murphy.
