Shane Colby
Ludwar
January 11, 1992 – June 8, 2026
Brian King Centre
2:00 - 4:00 pm (Central (no DST) time)
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Shane Colby Ludwar at the age of 34.
Born on January 11, 1992, Shane spent his early childhood years in Melville, Saskatchewan, before making Saskatoon his home for most of his life. During his younger years, he spent a lot of time with his little brother Noah and he will always remember Shane doing "the stringy show" for him. As he grew, Shane became known as a loving, loyal, kind, and deeply caring man who always put the needs of others before his own. He worried about everyone else first and carried a tremendous amount of love for the people closest to him. His coaches often described him as a “big teddy bear,” a perfect reflection of both his imposing size and his gentle, caring heart.
Shane was a remarkably hard worker who gave his full effort to everything he did, especially when it came to athletics and fitness. As a teenager, he played numerous sports, including softball, basketball, and football, where he was proud to be presented with the team Most Valuable Player award. That discipline carried over into his adult life. He loved pushing himself in the gym and took immense pride in the strength he built through unwavering dedication. Anyone who knew him will smile remembering his favorite saying about his fitness routine: “I’m not sad, gym/cardio seems important.”
Beyond the gym, Shane found genuine joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors, good food, and spending time with his loved ones. He was happiest when buying and aging ribeye or striploin steaks to prepare and share with family, often joking, “I’m not sad, food seems crucial.” He also took up an interest in golf and loved the time he spent out on the course with his brothers Ryan and Noah. Alongside his time on the golf course, Shane treasured his grandpa’s gun, loved talking about hunting, and held onto the special memories of hunting gophers with Uncle Glenn, Mike, and Cameron.
Shane’s memory will be lovingly cherished and honored by his mother Donna, stepfather Bruce, father Troy, brothers Ryan and Noah, and sister Alexys, and Grandma Marie. He will also be deeply missed by his cousins Cameron (Brittany), Peyton, Jacob, Carter, and Melissa (Mason), as well as his aunties Karen Doerksen and Laura Holitski, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his Grandpa Jack, Grandma Joanne, Papa Frank, Uncle Glen Holitski, Uncle Glen Doerksen, Great-Grandpa Anton, Great-Grandma Theresa, and his cousin Scott Schlosser.
Shane’s strength, compassion, loyalty, and enormous heart will never be forgotten. The love he gave so freely and the memories he created with those around him will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Shane’s Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Brian King Centre, 202 8th Avenue North, Warman, SK.
Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Shane Ludwar's care and arrangements.
