Obituary

Shane Michael Johnson was born on April 17, 1981, in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. At the age of five, his family moved to Saskatoon, where he grew up alongside his sister, supported by two devoted parents. As a family, they shared many adventures, traveling throughout the continent and building memories that shaped Shane’s deep love for connection and family.

Shane graduated from Marion M. Graham Collegiate and later from SaskPolyTech in Saskatoon, earning a diploma in CADCAM Technology. The Johnson family attended Lawson Heights Alliance Church, where Shane’s love for Jesus grew alongside a passion for music. It was there that he formed lifelong friendships and eventually met the love of his life, Robin. They were married on July 23, 2005.

After starting their family, Shane and Robin made their home in Warman, Saskatchewan. Shane was welcomed home by his Savior on January 5, 2026.

Shane was a beloved husband to Robin for 20 years and an incredible father to Owen, Bria, Jade, and Kael. Larger than life to all who knew him, he was known for his infectious laugh, deep love for others, and enduring friendships. Meticulous and creative, Shane was well respected in his profession. He had a goofy sense of humor and a remarkable ability to fix or build just about anything—often over-engineering it. Competitive by nature, he was famously hard to beat at games, even if he occasionally bent the rules right under your nose.

A gifted vocalist and talented guitarist, Shane often blessed his family’s home church, Martinsville Baptist Church, and anyone lucky enough to be seated nearby. His greatest passion, however, was his children. He worked tirelessly to support his family, eventually fulfilling his dream of becoming a self-employed contractor. Every pursuit was motivated by his desire to make memories with his kids. At the sound of his car keys jingling, the kids knew Dad was ready for an adventure—and wisely chose to go along.

Late-night jokes often turned into late-night conversations, where Shane shared his faith and instilled a deep love for Jesus in his children. His children carry the very best parts of him.
