It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Ross Chris Hoult. He went into eternity peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Hospice At Glengarda with friends & family by his side.
Ross was born June 27, 1954 in Wainwright, AB. His family moved to Biggar, SK when he was 6 days old. He grew up with 4 other siblings. Ross moved to Saskatoon after completing high school to attend the University of Saskatchewan. He received a bachelor of arts upon completion. He gave his life to Jesus & wanted to possibly enter ministry. He then attended Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina where he received a Master of Divinity degree. While attending seminary, he met his wife, Cheryl. They were married August 23, 1980. They had 2 sons, Adam & Jeff. Ross worked at the Canadian National Railway in Saskatoon & Watrous. He then worked at Circle Drive Alliance Church where he eventually became the Facilities Manager. Ross was involved in many different ministries at different churches he attended. He enjoyed serving no matter what he was doing.
Ross had a quick wit that could bring a smile to anyone that spent time with him. His joy spilled out & it was contagious. The people who spent time with Ross usually came away feeling better. He knew how to encourage people. One of Ross's passions were the Saskatchewan Roughriders who gave him much angst a lot of the time. He loved to watch many other sports, too, like hockey & college basketball. Ross enjoyed reading, spending time with family & friends, puzzle books and chocolate. His main passion was his love for Jesus. He loved reading the Bible & spending time with God in prayer.
Ross is lovingly remembered by his wife, Cheryl of 45 years and his two sons, Adam & Jeff. He is survived by 4 siblings. Cindy Ashfield, Bill Hoult (Judy), Marilyn Quigley, Terry Hoult (Linda) and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank & Lindell Hoult and two brother in laws, Joe Ashfield & Garnet Quigley.
We thank St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit and Hospice At Glengarda for the wonderful care he received while he was there.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice At Glengarda.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 2, 2026 at Circle Drive Alliance Church at 1:00p.m.
