Ronald (Ron) Henry DUPONT

September 17, 1946 - July 16, 2025

Ron Dupont passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, with family at his side. Born on September 17, 1946, to Joseph and Clara (nee Longman) Dupont in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, he was the second of five siblings who were raised on the family farm south of Wynyard. He graduated high school in Wynyard, Saskatchewan. After a short time, Ron moved to Regina where he met Ruth Lefebvre in 1968. Ron and Ruth moved to Thompson, Manitoba and were married on December 31, 1971. They returned to Wynyard, and began to farm alongside his dad, raising their four children, Terrie, Ashley, Jodi and Trevor. Later welcoming their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron remained on the farm until June 15, 2024.

Ron was a man of many talents. Over the years he had work experience in mining, hauling machinery, masonry work, shrimp fishing at Quill Lake, working in various roles for RM of Quill Lake, ending his working career with Wynyard Technologies.

Ron was the truest of cowboys and enjoyed life in the outdoors. Cattle and horses were a significant part of Ron’s life. When he wasn’t tending to the farm he loved to be out hunting, or fishing. He looked forward to the annual trail ride with his family each year.

He has touched the lives of so many and will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service for family will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the many staff at Royal University Hospital for their months of care and more recently the palliative care team at St. Paul's Hospital for all their care and support during Ron’s remaining days.
