Rodney Friesen, 65, of Warman, SK, went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Julieann (m. Korycki), children, Sean (Whitney), Rebecca, and Roseann. Father, Abe. Siblings, Lovella (Lin), Brad (Debra), Abigail (Ray), Ivy (Tim), John, Jeremy.
He was predeceased by his mother, Helen, and sister, Leanne.
Rod Friesen was born on September 25, 1961, and raised in the hamlet of Gruenthal, Saskatchewan, as the second oldest of seven children. Growing up on the farm instilled in him a strong work ethic and determination that stayed with him throughout his life. He was a hardworking man who was always on the go and never afraid to take on a new challenge.
At the age of 18, Rod met Julieann (Korycki), and together they built a life and family filled with love and dedication. Rod enjoyed a varied career in business, car sales, and trucking. From purchasing his first semi-truck to managing transportation companies, he worked hard, made many friends, and embraced the many opportunities that came his way. After a long and successful career, Rod retired at the age of 60 and enjoyed travelling with Julieann and spending time at their cabin.
Rod's faith was a very important part of his life, and he had a deep love for the fellowship he shared with the members of Grace Gospel Fellowship. Rod was voted in as an Elder, a role he took to heart and served faithfully until his illness took him home.
Above all his accomplishments, Rod's greatest joy was his family. He took great pride in being a husband and father and worked tirelessly to provide the best life possible for his family. His children were the highlight of his life, and there was nothing he wouldn't do to help them. Rod was devoted to those he loved and always wanted the very best for them.
Rod will be remembered for his strong work ethic, determination, faith, and deep love for his family. We are blessed to have called him husband, dad, brother, son, and friend. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and, most importantly, in the family he loved so dearly.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
