Olga Stefaniuk

February 7, 1930 — October 20, 2023

Olga (Orychyn) Stefaniuk

Mrs. Olga Stefaniuk, 93, of Diamond House, Warman, SK, formerly of Saskatoon passed peacefully away on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Olga was mother and Baba to son Terry, his three children: Matthew (Dayna), Zachary, and Vanessa. Son Bill (Jackie), and their sons Max and Riley.

Born in the Prince Albert area, Olga grew up on a farm with parents William and Tatiana Orychyn and older brother Gerald, each of whom predeceased her. Olga is also predeceased by her loving husband Morris and daughter-in-law Barbara Stefaniuk, wife of eldest son Terry.

Olga worked at Grosvenor Fabrics for many years. She loved sewing for her daughters-in-law. Baking, cooking, and tending flowers were also important activities for her. She and her husband Morris bowled competitively for many years. Olga followed her sons around to their various activities over the years.  She was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Saskatoon for many years prior to being unable to attend. She remained strong in her Christian beliefs.

Olga’s five grandchildren were the love of her life and brought great joy as she watched them play and grow to be adults. She loved looking at pictures of her grandchildren as they took part in sport and dance. To the end Baba continued to ask about her grandchildren. Olga was a Baba to the pre-school children in Diamond House as well and she loved when they would gather around her recliner and sing to her.

Our deepest thanks to the staff of Diamond House for your tender loving care as mom began her walk home to the Lord. You hold a place in our hearts.

A public interment will take place Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon, in the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox section. Pastor Len Rempel of Warman Mennonite Church and Pastor Zachary Stefaniuk of Zion Mennonite Church, Swift Current will be officiating.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements of Mrs. Olga Stefaniuk.
