Noreen (Zerr/Boechler) Kneeland
February 10, 1948 – November 23, 2025
Noreen passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters. Yvonne (Tim) Calvert, their family Todd Duffus, Caitlyn Calvert, Alison (Aaron) Fonos, Shannon Duffus, Connor Calvert, and Noreen’s great-grandchildren; Nadia Fonos, Owen Fonos, and Adalynn Duffus. Laurieann Smith, her family Stephanie Smith, Stacey Smith (Brayden Zunti), and great-granddaughter Kinnley Smith. Step-children: Coralie Kneeland with her daughters Samantha Ready, Leanne (William Davis) Ready, Khristina (Kevin) Bratlien, her sons Michael Lepard, Steven (Ariel) Lepard, Son, Scott Kneeland and his boys Trevor Kneeland, Evan Kneeland. Noreen is also survived by her brother Glen (Deb) Zerr, her sister Marietta (Ken) Nowosad, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Emil and Ida Zerr, and brother Elvin Zerr.
Noreen was born and baptized at St.Pauls Hospital in Saskatoon. She was raised on the Zerr family homestead near Allan, Saskatchewan, the eldest daughter of Ida and Emil Zerr. She attended Happy Country School until the school closed then Noreen attended Allan School until graduation. Before marriage, Noreen was trained as a flight attendant in Kansas City and worked for the Coop Creamery in Saskatoon. Noreen married Dave Boechler and started their family while living on the Boechler family farm near Allan. Yvonne and Laurieann were both born before their family moved from the farm to Allan and then to Kamloops B.C. Noreen and her daughters moved back home to Saskatchewan, where Noreen worked as an office administrator for various companies. Noreen married Ray Kneeland and moved to their acreage well known as the OK Corral. Noreen was an active member of the Sask Valley Riding Club, and hosted a variety of agriculture events at the OK Corral. Noreen fundraised significantly for Telemiracle and Terry Fox, two foundations that were dear to her. Her last years were devoted to travel and family, Noreen cherished the memories she made while travelling with Gerald and visiting family.
Noreen lived a full and active life, balancing many hobbies with her deep commitment to family and friends. Noreen had a wonderful sense of humor, always looking for an opportunity for fun and lightheartedness but was real, direct and honest all at the same time.Dependable and humble, she supported not only her immediate and extended family but anyone to whom she opened her heart. Her generosity was quiet and unconditional; she never saw her own kindness as remarkable, even though it touched countless lives in extraordinary ways. Noreen was simply a special and beloved presence to many.
Noreen's Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in the Holy Spirit Parish, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK.
