Nettie Uhren, aged 87, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Nettie was a steady, loving presence whose kindness and quiet strength shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Regina was her home for many years, and the community she built there was a reflection of her generous spirit.
Nettie worked hard all her life and took great pride in everything she did. She began her career with the Provincial Government, first in the Department of Health and later in the Department of Highways. Determined and driven, she completed her university degree in Business Administration while raising her family, opening the door to new opportunities she embraced wholeheartedly. After retiring from the province, Nettie continued to contribute her skills and dedication by working with the City of Regina in the Information Systems Department.
Outside of work, Nettie found joy in creating beautiful things with her hands. She loved to knit and quilt, and her family treasures were the pieces she made with such care and attention. She also gave generously of her time, volunteering at Government House in Regina. In their earlier years, Nettie and her husband Clifford were active members of the Kinsmen and Kinettes service clubs, building friendships and giving back to their community together.
Nettie especially cherished the time she spent working alongside her son Cameron at his bakery, The Little Pie Shop, where she enjoyed being part of the warm, bustling atmosphere. In her later years, she found great happiness in travelling with family and friends, creating memories that will be held close by those who shared those journeys with her. Also, in her later years she loved spending time with her son Kim and Family especially her grandchildren who gave he much joy,
Nettie was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Fred Ciz; her brother, William Ciz; her sister, Anne Riveny; and her loving husband of 49 years, Clifford Uhren. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She leaves behind her two sons and families, Kim and his wife Glenys and Cameron and his wife Angela, who will forever carry her love and guidance with them. Nettie was a proud grandmother to Hallie, Ben (Ashley), Jakob (Zoe), and Seth, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Her family will remember her for her warmth, her resilience, and the countless ways she showed her love—both in the big moments and the everyday gestures that meant so much.
Interment will take place in the spring of 2026 at Riverside Cemetery in Regina, Saskatchewan. Details regarding a memorial or celebration of life may be shared at a later date.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Nettie Uhren's care and arrangements.
