March 15, 1957- January 31, 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Myron Munchinsky share the news of his passing on January 31, 2023, at the age of 65. Myron passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s hospital after a two-year battle from complications due to a severe stroke.
Myron was born in Swan River, MB on March 15, 1957, to the late Milton and Georgina Munchinsky. Shortly after Myron was born, the family decided to move back to Saskatoon, SK. It was in Saskatoon where Myron lived out his life, attending school, working, and starting a family with former spouse Shannon Ramstead.
Myron will be lovingly remembered by his children: Nelson (Jenna Ens) and Donavon; his siblings Ken (Norma), Ernie (Francie), Dot (Craig Oleksuik); stepmother Vangi; sister-in-law Faye; brother-in-law Ken Stewart; many nieces and nephews; along with many friends, notably long-time friends Mark Morrison and Blair Yochim. He is predeceased by his sister Flo and brother Clarence.
Myron was an immensely optimistic and curious person. You could usually find him tearing something apart to fix it or to just, “see how it works”. At home and work he was the go-to guy for anything that needed fixing. He was even given the colloquial title of “Uncle Fix-It”. His personality suited him well for his 25+ year career as electronic technician with IRD and Vecima in Saskatoon.
Being a quiet individual didn’t stop Myron from being outgoing to those that knew him. He was an avid golfer, a movie fiend, a tech aficionado, an astronomy enthusiast, and a memorabilia collector. He would always laugh at his own “dad” jokes, even to the groans of others. Myron will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family wishes to thank the following for their supportive and compassionate care of Myron: Spruce Manor Long Term Care Home, the staff of the department of Neurosciences at Royal University Hospital, and the staff of both Internal Medicine and Emergency at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Cherished Memories Funeral Services is honoured to be entrusted with Myron’s care.
