It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mildred Ens at the age of 98 years. She was born on November 20, 1927, at River Hills, SK, to her parents, Susana and Karl Windels.
She married the love of her life, Arthur Ens, on September 23, 1945, at Garthland, SK. She and her husband were baptized together in the Mennonite faith in the spring of 1945. She attended church faithfully at First Mennonite in Saskatoon.
Mildred was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to her family. A room was so much warmer when she was present. Her gentleness and kindness extended to all around her. Many grandchildren were shown how to be loving and caring people by her example. Her strong Christian faith was unwavering, and she always radiated a comforting presence.
Mildred worked tirelessly inside and outside the home for many years to help support her family. She retired at age 62 as a lab technician from the University of Saskatchewan. Mildred loved to garden, bake, crochet, and spend lots of time with all of her loving family. Her grandchildren enjoyed many stories about life growing up on the farm and learning about family history. She was a very selfless person who was always thinking of others. She loved to laugh, and her smile was contagious!
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur and her parents. She was the last surviving child of 7 children. Her siblings were Carl (Mary), Henry (Sadie), Annie (John), Herman (Geneva), Johanna (Walter), and Reinhard (Verna).
She was the loving mother of Dianne Dyck (Robert) of Saskatoon, Alice Sadler (Greg) of Calgary and Glenn Ens (Carla) of Saskatoon. She was blessed with seven grandchildren: Bonita, Jennifer, Wayne, Ryan, Jenna, Eric, and Krista; ten great grandchildren: Amanda, Matthew, Micheal, Joshua, Adam, Isaac, Florence, Bianca, Aiden and Elora; and two great-great-grandchildren: Bo and Jack. She is survived by numerous loving and caring nieces and nephews, who brightened her life with their kindness and visits.
Mildred will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all her family and those who were blessed to know her. The family wishes to thank the following for all their supportive and compassionate care of Mildred throughout the years: Circle Drive Special Care Home and Royal University Hospital.
A Funeral Service for Mildred will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, located at 418 Queen Street in Saskatoon.
