On Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, Mary Madeline Lasas passed away peacefully in Meadow Lake, SK., at the age of 75 years. She was born on October 5th, 1950.
She was kind, caring, loving, beautiful, and had a good sense of humour.
Mary was a mother, grandmother, a chapan, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
Mary was born Roman Catholic and traditional as well; she believed in both.
Mary had many hobbies: beading, sewing, crocheting, cooking, and preparing traditional foods such as rabbit, duck, chicken, goose, fish, moose, and deer meat. She was a berry picker and canned what she picked. She also picked mint, sweetgrass, and other medicines.
Mary is forever loved and remembered by her sons Alvin (Bridgette) Lasas and John Lasas; daughter Cheryl Lasas; sisters Irene Lasas and Frances Lasas; grandchildren
Aidan Yew, Kylee Lasas, Annette Gladue, Davis Gladue,
Brayden McCallum, Davryn McCallum, Brenna Mistickokat,
Eva Dancy; her chapan’s, Bodie Crookedneck, Tessa Cantell, Bentley Lasas, Aurora Lasas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Basil & Marie Lasas; granddaughter Clarissa Crookedneck; daughter Sheena Lasas; siblings George Lasas, Leo Lasas, Edwin Lasas, Michael Lasas, Victoria Lasas, Violet Ernest, and Velma Martell; her chapan Bryce Crookedneck.
