Obituary

My first 12 years were lived in Saskatchewan on a farm with my father, a well respected teacher, and my mother a wonderful homemaker. I am thankful for my parents.

After finishing High School in Sylvania, I, like my two older sisters, went to Toronto where I, like my sister Jean, attended Toronto Bible College for 3 years. A year later I attended McMaster University for 3 years where I earned my B.A. in History before spending a year getting a teacher’s certificate.

My first 9 years of teaching were spent at Welland High School where I taught in the History department. Then I went to Toronto and taught in North York in secondary school and then in Junior High School for a few years before accepting an invitation to teach elementary students in a private school called The Froebel Education Centre.

During all those years I was involved in Pioneer camps during the summers, Inter-School Christian Fellowship, in the schools during the winters and teaching scripture from teens to adults in churches which I attended.

I also went to St. Petersburgh Russia, to Lithuania and Ukraine where I taught English to adult teachers during their summer holidays over five years. Nepal was another country where I spent a fall term teaching the children of English speaking missionaries working with InterServe Missions.

Through all those years family and friends were of supreme importance.

One thing I learned was that God is faithful, He keeps every promise He ever made and is a very present help always.
