IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marielle
Baldwin
April 13, 1943 – December 27, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Marielle Baldwin announces her passing on December 27, 2025, at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon.
She was born on April 13, 1943, in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, to Marguerite and Maurice Beaudette. Marielle graduated from the Regina Grey Nuns Nursing School in 1964 and began her career as a Registered Nurse at Moosomin Hospital, later moving to Esterhazy Hospital, where she dedicated 11 years to caring for others. In 1968, Marielle married Orton Buckberger, and together they made their home in Gerald, SK. Eventually, she chose to leave her nursing career to devote herself to raising her young children. The family later settled in Esterhazy, where Marielle wholeheartedly supported her children’s ambitions and skillfully maintained a backyard rink, fostering many cherished memories.
In 1990, Marielle moved to Swift Current with her son to further support his passion for hockey, before relocating to Winnipeg to be close to her daughter. Her life’s journey then took her to Medicine Hat for several years, and ultimately to Saskatoon, where she spent her final years.
Marielle’s greatest joys came from cheering on her grandchildren in hockey, softball, baseball, dance, and rhythmic gymnastics—she rarely missed an event and was always their biggest fan. Marielle loved running, walking, and exercising, as well as shopping, solving crossword puzzles, and sharing coffee with friends.
Marielle leaves to cherish her memory her two children: Monique (Robert) and their daughters, Sophia and Sasha; Ashley (Taryn) and their children, Paige, Braxton, Boston, and Ronan. She is also survived by her brother, Andre, and her sister, Laurianne. Marielle was predeceased by her husband Orton, her second husband Murray, her sister Suzanne (“Susie”), and her parents Maurice and Marguerite.
Our family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Cherished Memories Funeral Services in Martensville, SK, and to the compassionate caregivers at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
