Louis Joseph Pageot

March 22, 1934 — June 27, 2023

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Lou, on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Lou was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on March 22, 1934, to Lucien and Adeline Pageot. Lou had two sisters and two brothers, who predeceased him.

Lou was very young when he left home. He travelled and worked various jobs throughout Canada. He then settled into a career as a farm machinery parts salesman. He worked for City Machinery for a large portion of his career, then Bearing & Transmission and finally for Napa Parts, where he retired from at 65. He was a born salesman, very knowledgeable.

Lou took up golf the last few years of working. He set up many meetings with clients on the course.

When he retired, golf was his passion. You could find him at Wildwood Golf Course, sometimes two rounds in a day.

He was very proud of the hole in one he made on hole #5. A few years later, his grandson Brenton made one on the same hole.

Lou met his beautiful wife Darlene in Winnipeg, and married June 28, 1958. They had two children: daughter Deanne/Pat Novakoski and son Darren Pageot. He had four grandchildren: Brenton/Jayme Novakoski, Carle Novakoski, Kendra/Jonathon Daku and Dominic Lacroix. He also had four great-grandchildren: Blake & Ashlyn Novakoski and Maddox & Harlow Daku.

Lou had some health issues in the last couple of years. He was able to be in his own home due to his wife/nurse Darlene who cared for him 24/7.

We will all miss him dearly; he was a very special man to us. We’ll miss his quick wit and all the stories of his adventures.

Darlene would like to say a special thank you to Lou’s friend John Scott, who would always call to chat with Lou, to see how he was doing, and would often pick Lou up and take him for lunch or a coffee. It meant a lot to both Lou and Darlene.

At Lou’s request, there will be no funeral. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Lou, you may do so to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Cancer Society.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Louis Pageot.
