Lindsay Walter Sipley was born on September 22, 1935, on the family farm near Elkhorn, Manitoba. He was the fourth of five children to Joseph and Eleanor Sipley. He loved farm life, but the opportunity to travel drew him to join the RCMP in 1957. He met Patricia (Pat) Parker while stationed in Nelson, B.C., They were married on February 21, 1959. Lindsay was also stationed in Trail, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Yorkton, Estherhazy, Kyle, Kerrobert, and finally Warman.
Once retired from the RCMP, Lindsay enjoyed gardening, woodworking, watching Blue Jay games, NHL games, travelling with Pat, as well as spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Lindsay was predeceased by his sons Keith (1981) and Daryl (2023), great-grandson Stuart Edlin (2010), parents Joseph and Eleanor, brothers Harold, Lorne and Allan, sister Aileen, sisters-in-law Vivian and Eileen, Alice and Don, brother-in-laws Lynn, Bob and Ken, mother-in-law Emily Parker, nephew Dalton.
Lindsay is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Patricia (Pat). Two daughters, Jocelyn (Murray) Simle, Maureen Forsberg (Kelly Skiftun). Five grandchildren Tania Breen, Janelle (Ryan) Edlin, Andrew Forsberg (Lyuba Pastushenko), Adam Simle, Alison Forsberg. Six great-grandchildren Matea, Ashton, Bodyne Breen, and Joseph, Victoria, Nicholas Edlin, and 14 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Walker and the staff at Diamond House in Warman for their excellent care and compassion they gave Lindsay.
Lindsay's Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, in the Martens Warman Funeral Home, 402 Central Street W, Warman, SK.
