With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Leonard Kenneth Heichman on January 9, 2026, at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Leonard was born in Saskatoon on June 28, 1943, and grew up on the family farm north of Perdue. He took his elementary schooling at Light School and graduated from Arelee High School. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and received a degree in Mathematics. Following his education, he worked at the Soil Science Department at the University. He also worked for several companies in the accounting business.

Leonard missed farm life and decided to go full-time farming with his brothers Gordon and Ed.

He enjoyed sports and was a big fan of Blue Jays, Maple Leaf’s and of course the Riders.

Leonard is survived by his brothers Gordon and Edward, and sister Lois (Saskatoon), cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Mary Heichman, and two brothers in infancy.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leonard’s name to a charity of your choice.
