Larry John Bachinski

April 25, 1954 — May 25, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lawrence John Bachinski (Larry) announce his peaceful passing on May 25th, 2025 at the age of 71.

Larry was born on April 25th, 1954, in Winnipeg, to Peter and Mary Bachinski.

During Larry’s working years, he wore many hats. Larry attended the University of Winnipeg where he received his Bachelor of Sociology and later his Masters of Sociology. Following his completion of his sociology degrees, Larry was accepted into the law program at McGill University where he eventually received two law degrees, a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Civil Law with Honors. Larry eventually left his career path in law and began working at his father’s company Alpine Express for several years.

After Larry’s family was completed, the family moved to British Columbia where they purchased and operated a small motel in Radium Hot Springs. Larry enjoyed his time in the mountains where he spent many hours soaring over the mountains at the Invermere Soaring Club. Larry loved spending time at the hockey rink in Invermere watching his son Jordan play goalie. One of Larry’s favourite weekend traditions with Jordan and Alysha was attending their ski lessons which eventually turned into cherished moments spent skiing together as a family. Larry had a deep love for nature and wildlife which he joyfully shared with his children. Together they spent countless hours exploring the local wetlands, birdwatching, walking the trails and creating memories.

After his children finished high school, Larry made his way back to Saskatoon where he would live out the rest of his years. During this time, Larry enjoyed spending time with his children who he was very proud of. The last few years of Larry’s life, he filled his days with his favourite snacks and past times. He spent many hours on the deck enjoying the sunshine where he loved to be.

Larry’s tenacious, and spirited personality kept his family on their toes, and will be very missed. We all looked forward to his daily messages where he shared updates on world events and the latest sports scores. It was his way of staying connected and those thoughtful check-ins will be deeply missed.

Larry shared a special bond with his mother Mary. Despite the physical distance between them, their connection never wavered- they remained close through daily emails that spoke volumes about their love and friendship.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Cheryl Bachinski; his mother Mary Bachinski, and his children Jordan Bachinski (Michaella) and Alysha Bachinski (Craig). He also leaves behind his siblings: Brian Bachinski (Sherri), and Christopher Bachinski (Kim) and his many nieces and nephews.

Larry was predeceased by his first-born son Jeremy Bachinski, as well as Larry’s father Peter Bachinski.

Larry will be deeply missed, remembered and forever held close in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. In accordance with Larry’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, his ashes will be lovingly scattered by his wife and children in the mountains- a place he cherished most.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a local SPCA or any similar organization in Larry’s memory to honor his love for animals.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Larry Bachinski.
