The family of John William Richardson are heartbroken to announce his sudden passing at home on Sunday, June 28.

John was born in Sheffield, England, on April 29, 1954. At the age of 12, he immigrated to Canada with his parents, Derrick and Joan and 4 brothers. He worked at Emco Supplies, Zipper courier and finished his working years with Canada Post, retiring after 30 years of service.

He was a “competitive” league bowler and an avid golfer. He enjoyed golfing at many courses throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. John was extremely proud to have 5 hole-in-ones under his belt.

John was a true lover of animals, especially the dogs he had in his life. He found enjoyment in feeding the crows and sparrows and watching the ducks that visit their pool daily.

John’s favourite times were spent with his grandsons, swimming in their pool, on the driving range, suppers out and concerts. Johnnie instilled his love for good old rock and roll into Mayson and Preston. He loved listening to them jam in his basement … one on the drums and one on the guitar playing the good old rock and roll that Johnnie loved.

John was a trustworthy friend. Anything you shared with him stayed with him. He was a true-blue guy …he was a man of his word. What you saw is what you got.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Martin.

He leaves to mourn his partner of 43 years, Cathy Wallace, son Scott (Raeann), son Brian and grandsons Mayson and Preston, brothers Gary (Geselle), Andrew and Chris.
