It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John Peters on January 29, 2026, just shy of his 80th birthday in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 

John was born in 1947 in Warman, Saskatchewan, where he spent his early years. He proudly served in the Navy, an experience that shaped his sense of duty and discipline. John later made his home in Saskatoon, where he built a life filled with family and love. In 1983, John married the love of his life, Irene Boychuk, which began a cherished partnership that lasted many years. 

John was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Lena Peters. 

He is lovingly remembered by his children: Robert (Nicola) Peters and Colin (Lynette) Peters and their children Joshua, Abigail, Elle, Hailey and Tristan. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Trevor (Karen) Wilson and their children Bret and Brittany, Todd (Maggie) Wilson and children Tanner and Robben, Scott Wilson and his children Wyatt and Cody. He was blessed with great-grandchildren Nixon, Liam and Kaya, who brought him immense joy in his later years.

John spent many years volunteering with the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Nutana Legion. John will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His quiet strength, dedication to family, and service to his country will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

The family will be planning a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. 
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
