It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the passing of John Kenneth Edward Lord on August 8, 2026, at the young age of 56. 

John was born on April 7, 1970, in Cardiff, Wales, to parents Jill and Ken Lord. Growing up, John was never short of friends. He met his lifelong friend Christopher Lock early in life, who remained a close friend throughout his life. Together they grew up causing chaos, listening to Madness, and riding scooters. 

In 2003, John and Julie began a life together. They quickly knew they were soulmates. Doing everything side by side - from family get-togethers and scooter rallies to a simple drink at the pub - they were inseparable. In 2013 they moved to Canada, where a whole new adventure began. There they built a large circle of friends (many of whom have become family), welcomed animals into their lives, and created beautiful homes they personalized together. Everyone who knew them saw them as the couple people aspire to be. 

John drove for much of his career before joining Qline Trucking, where the work became more hands-on and different every day - something that suited him perfectly. A true “jack of all trades,” he loved keeping busy with projects always on the go. Whether working with wood, cars, or anything hands-on, John could do it - and he was amazing at it. 

John will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, and the way he made everyone around him feel like family. 

John was predeceased by his grandparents Kenny and Betty Lord, and his parents Ken and Jill Lord. 

He is survived by his loving wife Julie Lord; his son Rhys; his sister Michelle (Don) Rubbo; his niece Sophie Rubbo; his nephew Giorgio Rubbo; his great-niece Luchia Rubbo; and the Qline crew, who have become family. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saskatoon Dog Rescue.
