James Niessen was born on September 20, 1950 in Saskatoon to William and Maria (Teichroeb) Niessen. His growing up years were spent at Clark’s Crossing, near Langham, and then a final move to Saskatoon. After grade 7 he felt he’d had enough schooling and later on went to Kelsey for mechanic training. He was a mechanic who took pride in doing a good job. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith in 1975. He met the love of his life, Linda Neufeld, in 1977 and they married on October 7, 1978. They shared life’s joys and sorrows for 46 years. He built his first house on Gray Avenue in Saskatoon in 1977. After six and a half years the decision was made to sell and move to Warman where he built our last house. He enjoyed travelling and they spent many vacations in Mexico, Cuba, Panama, Aruba, Ecuador, Germany, Italy, and Radium Hot Springs to name a few. The last five years of his life he dealt with some health issues that were quite debilitating for him. It was very special to have a family vacation in Mazatlan in 2020. On the morning of November 14 he passed suddenly from a heart attack. He will leave a huge void in the family but we rest assured that he is safe in the presence of our heavenly Father. Surviving are his loving wife Linda; children Judy (Dan) Martens, Josh, Jordan (Alanna), Dallas (Saydi Harlton) and his 4 grandchildren Mikayla, Grayson, Olivia, and Jeremiah Martens; his 8 siblings Margaret (Peter) Danabassis, Ann Adrian, Joe, Edna Wiebe, Irene Niessen, Walter, June (Mark) Ens, Noah (Sandra); his in-laws Marlene (Martin) Wiebe, Ed (Joyce) Neufeld, Glen (Karen) Neufeld, Lindsay (Kathy) Neufeld, Ritchie (Doreen) Neufeld, Leona (Lloyd) Peters, Ron (Leona) Neufeld, Loretta (Daryl) Bueckert; step mother-in-law Sarah Neufeld, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William and Maria Niessen, daughter Amy, parents-in-law John and Elizabeth Neufeld, brothers-in-law Ben Adrian, Peter Wiebe, and sister-in-law Kathy Niessen. We will miss you so much and always love you.
