James Marten Beherns was born in Saskatoon, SK, and passed on into the presence of Jesus on September 30, 2025. He went to Dalmeny High School and attended the University of Saskatchewan studying Commerce. James met his lifelong spouse – Laura Andres – they were delightfully married for 58 years, with James being the rock of Laura’s life. James was the proud father of two daughters, Tonya Sider (Doug Sider) and Renae Bandet (Daniel Bandet) and 10 grandchildren(Prestyn Sider, Grace-Anne Sider, Ashly Giammarco-Sider, Carter Sider, August Van Loon, Brooke Madsen, Elijah Madsen, Justus Madsen, Gabe Bandet, and Angelica Bandet). He took great delight in his 5 great-grandchildren (Hezekiah, Elias, Sawyer, Milena, Violet).
He worked for 47 years with Acklands Grainger in purchasing and managing the Autobody Paint Shop. He lived life in a way that reflected his love of family and Jesus. He could fix anything or learn how to, he enjoyed puttering in the garage, doing yard work, and planting red flowers and Marigolds. He was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Oilers, Blue Jays, and Rough Riders. He loved to laugh and had a witty sense of humor. He loved to sing. He was a quiet presence of strength with this strength, he served and honoured his family and Jesus. He enjoyed reading his Bible, helping at Church, and singing southern gospel music. With James passing on, earths loss is heavens gain. Angels are singing.
