Irene Elizabeth Sampson

April 21, 1936 — December 30, 2022

With heartfelt sadness, we announce that Irene Elizabeth Sampson, born April 21, 1936, passed away at her home at Diamond House in Warman, on December 30, 2022, with family by her side.

Irene is survived by her life partner Emil Chomakewich , her daughter Lee Hall (John), grandchildren Matthew (Pamela) and family, Lindsay Charabin (Ryan) and family, and Brandon (Tenille) Hall and family. Also surviving are Irene’s two sisters Gloria Boerma (Herman) and Christine Sutton both of Saskatoon. Irene is predeceased by four brothers and one sister.

Irene and Emil enjoyed many years on the farm in Watson before moving to Martensville and later Warman – enjoying gardening, bird watching and looking after her ever present cats and dog. Both Irene and Emil enjoyed traveling with their motorhome, camping and fishing and their winter retreats to Uma. Irene had a love of music and sang in several choirs including the Humboldt Community Choir and The University Community Chorus in Saskatoon.

Irene also had a special love for animals and always had a dog or cat tucked under her arm. Even in Diamond House she had adopted two cats that kept her company, always looking for treats and cuddling. Her great grandchildren assured us great gramma would be happy and very busy in heaven looking after all the animals there.

A private family service and interment will take place at a later date at Irene’s original family farm, a place she loved. Thank you for your support during this time.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Irene.
