Ike Thiessen

July 12, 1944 — July 26, 2024

It is with deeply profound sadness and broken hearts to announce that our dear sweet Dad/Grandpa, Isaak (Ike) Thiessen, left our physical world unexpectedly but peacefully the evening of Monday August 26, 2024.

Dad’s wishes were for a “no fuss” farewell. We have made arrangements for an informal viewing tomorrow evening, to provide the many who loved him and whose lives he touched in such a profound way an opportunity to meet together and grieve collectively at 7:00pm, Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Martens Warman Funeral Home, 402 Central St, Warman SK.

Dad touched the lives of everyone he met with his characteristic kindness, bright eyes, infectious smile/humour, endless optimism, and passionate faith - and he met & impacted a LOT of people over the years through his province wide industrial scale work & business, founding ScaleTech Systems Ltd., family roots in Toledo OH, decades of vacations with family & friends in Puerto Vallarta, his many associations through churches, ministry outreaches, ESL at Erindale Alliance Church, astronomy groups, coffee shops - anywhere and everywhere he went. He was always telling us of new friends, stories of people he’d met, and activities/outreaches he was involved in. Dad simply loved people, fellowship, helping and ministering at every opportunity.

To us, Dad exemplified family. In times of celebration, times of grief, and in the dailyness of life, Dad was always reaching out, connecting and helping in any capacity he could when need arose. His kindness, love, dedication, persistence, and devotion to his family, his children, and his grandchildren ran deep. Our grief now runs deep but his love and legacy will carry on through his family, grandchildren and eventual great grandchildren, through the many stories and memories we already share, and the lessons we were privileged to learn from him in how he lived his life, and how he loved us all so well.

Dad is predeceased by his parents Isake & Emily Thiessen.

Dad is survived by his wife Leah (nee Roeger) Thiessen, daughters Wendy Thiessen and Tracy (nee Thiessen) VanBrabant, grandchildren Nathan & Katlyn Boschman, Michaela Boschman and Noah Boschman, siblings Mary (nee Thiessen) Peters, Katie (nee Thiessen) & Harold Barth, Emily (nee Thiessen) & Jerry Rabbit and Peter & Mary Thiessen, numerous nieces & nephews, and sister-in-law Judy Lee (nee Roeger) Trautman.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Ike Thiessen.
