Obituary

Harvey Gerald Boger, age 79, of Northern Light, SK, passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2026, at Rose Garden Hospice. Harvey was born on April 1st, 1946, in Prince Albert, SK to Hartvig and Ida Boger.

Harvey was born and raised in the Northern Light area. Where he attended school in Northern Light and Dixon Lake school. In his younger years he played hockey, participated in 4H and later found his love for curling. After school he went and worked as a mechanic, in the oil fields, and in the mines, delivering fuel, until returning to the farm in 1971.

In 1974 Harvey met a beautiful young lady named Lorraine Chitrinia at a dance in Crystal Springs, who then he would make his wife in June of 1975. They lived on the farm where Harvey grew up and raised their three children. They had cows, chickens, pigs, and a pet sheep named Bambi. Harvey was fortunate to go to Norway and Sweden twice to visit numerous relatives and learn about his heritage. Harvey farmed until 1997 and then worked for other farmers in the area. In retirement Harvey had a passion for spending time with his grandchildren, curling, drinking coffee, visiting, and helping others. At the Birch Hills Curling Rink Harvey found more than a hobby, he found a second family. He was always there to help, leaving a legacy of friendship in every end played.

Harvey was a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle and grandpa. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Lorriane, his children, Anna Devenis, Shae (Steven) Adams and Jonas Boger. His grandchildren, Mackenzie Devenis, Alexis Devenis (Ethan Zwack), Kalem Adams & Kallie Adams. His sister Bertha (John) Hemstad. His sister-in-laws, Borgny Boger, Elsie Gupta, Theresa (David) Kilden, Paulette (John) Hamilton, Patricia (Herb) Lawrence. His brother-in-laws, Vernon (Norma) Chitrena, Erwin (Brenda) Chitrinia, David (Linda) Chitrinia. As well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews, great-great nieces and numerous relatives in Norway.

He was predeceased by his parents Hartvig and Ida Boger, his in laws Philip and Anna Chritina, his brother Arvin Boger, his brother-in-law Murli Gupta and his nephew Marvin Chritina.

The celebration of Harvey’s life will be held on May 17th, 2026, at Bethania Church in Northern Light at 2pm with Internment following immediately after.

Lunch to follow at Boger residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Harvey’s memory can be made to the Bethania Church or Rose Garden Hospice.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Boger's care and arrangements.
