Obituary

It is with a heavy yet grateful heart that we announce the passing of Floyd Pashovitz of Arelee, SK, at the age of 92.

He is survived by his wife Ethel of 58 years and his children Lenore Zimmer (Doug), Gary Pashovitz (Jennifer), Dennis Pashovitz (Karen) and Mark Pashovitz. His grandchildren, Zak and Jake Zimmer, Taylor, Brennon, Braydon, Alanna, Allie, Tasjia (Dakota) Moore, Jessy and Jax. Great-grandchildren, Andrew Walter and Alice Moore. Floyd has a surviving brother, Ken (Eileen) Pashovitz. He is predeceased by his mother and father, Octavia and Tony Pashovitz, sister Katie, brothers Wilf, Raymond, Ashlee and Andrew.

Floyd was born in the Struan district. He attended Petroffsk and Balmae schools. He continued his education at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon, where he took a welding course, which was very useful for farming. He met Ehtel Rask while she was teaching grades 1, 2 and 3 in Arelee. They married in 1967 and raised 4 kids on their grain and cattle farm. Floyd was a hardcore John Deere farmer and even took Ethel on a second honeymoon vacation to Waterloo, Iowa, to tour the John Deere Factory. Floyd enjoyed playing games, often evenings at the farm he would have a Rummikub or Parcheesi game going. Summers were spent attending Rockridge Gospel Music Festival and other Christian music festivals across Saskatchewan in the motor home and winters at the Watrous Spa.

Floyd has a true love for farming, and though he pulled back from being on the land, he was still farming from his recliner.

We would like to invite everyone to a Time of Remembrance held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Cherished Memories Funeral Home, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, SK.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Mr. Pashovitz’s care and arrangements.
