Ella Gordon

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ella Gordon (nee Loehndorf); wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so many. Ella passed away peacefully at St Ann’s Long Term Care home on Wednesday, August 20 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her husband of almost 29 years Alex, her parents William Loehndorf and Elizabeth (nee Hegel) and 10 siblings. Ella is lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Madeline Loehndorf, Norma Loehndorf, brother-in-law Ray Hiebert, friends Shirley and Vick, as well as longtime business partner and friend Johnny. She has a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. She was especially thankful for her guardian angels, Cindy and Ron Riehl, who played such a special role in her life while she was living on her own.

Ella was born in Allan, SK, where she was raised with her ten brothers and sisters: Peter, Willie, Clara, Irene Perret, Joseph, Doreen Montgomery, Bernard, Marie Hiebert and twins Daniel and Johnny. Ella was the last of William and Elizabeth’s children to leave this earth. She once noted, Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again.

Ella moved to Saskatoon and entered the world of business, including running Fleet Centre on Broadway Avenue. Johnny did the car repairs, and she ran the business. Her strong work ethic and great people skills held her in good stead until she sold it and retired. Her Catholic faith meant a lot to her. In retirement she loved traveling and went on many amazing vacations with her family and friends.

Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 and her Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 both being held in the St. Phillip Neri Parish, 1902 Munroe Avenue, Saskatoon, SK.
