Darcy Miles Rusnak

May 8, 1967 — January 23, 2026

Darcy Miles Rusnak was born on May 8, 1967, and passed away on January 23, 2026. Darcy lived a life rooted in curiosity, service, laughter, and deep love for the world around him.

He found his greatest peace outdoors and had a profound appreciation for all things that grew, flew, or walked the earth—especially birds, which held a special place in his heart. Nature was not just something he admired; it was something he truly understood and respected.

Darcy was the proud father of seven children—two by blood, two by choice, and three through bonus partnerships—and the delighted Geedo to three fun-filled grandchildren. He took immense pride in all of them and never missed an opportunity to brag about their accomplishments to anyone willing to listen.

Darcy was deeply honoured by his time in the military, with particular pride in his role as an officer teaching young adults in the cadet program. He loved watching them learn, flourish, and grow, and he carried those connections and memories with great respect.

Family meant everything to Darcy. He shared special relationships with relatives far and wide and valued each connection deeply. Known as a prankster with a mischievous sense of humor, Darcy loved a good joke and took great delight in scaring his wife. His many, many stories—and the laughter that came with them—will be told for years to come.

Darcy is lovingly remembered by his wife, Rhonda; his children Adam (Tasha) Rusnak and their daughters Jayda and Mikenna; Nic Rusnak; Mitchell (Katie Judd) Bone and their son Kayden; and Chyanne (Cole Motelago) Bone. He is also survived by his brother Brian (Yvonne) Rusnak and their children: Dallas (Carla) Rusnak and their children Payton and Zane; Shiona (Brad) Buckshaw and their children Shaeley and Kaylee; and his sister Sonya (Jason DeHaan) and their children Andrew and Jennifer; His sister-in-law Kimberley (Brent) Robertson and their children Candace (Jon) Ottewell, Jamie (Jess) Robertson and their children Tali and Temperance and Brooklyn (Mitchell) Addison and Brother-in-law Lyle Pollom.

He was predeceased by his parents, Matt and Jean Rusnak; his Father-in-law David Pollom; his brother Terry (Shirley) Rusnak; his niece and nephews Tascha, Glenn, and Theresa Rusnak; and D’artagan DeHaan.
