IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cheryl Lee
MacGonigill
February 13, 1964 – December 30, 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Cheryl MacGonigill announces her passing on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 61. Cheryl endured the devastating loss of her son Reilly in 2019 and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just ten months afterward.
Cheryl was born on February 13, 1964, in Calgary, Alberta, to Dan and Marilyn MacGonigill. She was raised in Bowden, Alberta, and later moved to Saskatchewan, where she built a life centered around her kids. Cheryl was a devoted mother who spent many years as a stay-at-home mom, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to raising her children. Once they were older, she joined the workforce as an office assistant at a local medical clinic.
In her spare time, Cheryl enjoyed crafting and spending time visiting with friends, but nothing brought her more joy than being with her children. Two years ago, she was blessed with a beautiful granddaughter who quickly became the center of her world. Embracing her new role as “Granny,” Cheryl wore the title with immense pride and love.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember her as a kind, loving, and compassionate soul with a strength that inspired everyone around her. Cheryl was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, but above all, she was an incredible mother. Anyone who spent time with Cheryl felt the warmth of her presence and knew how lucky they were to know her.
Cheryl will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her daughter Nicki (Klayton); granddaughter (Loewyn); mother (Marilyn); brothers Danny (Rachael), Colin (Lynn); sister Lori (Darren); nieces Ashley (Frank), Mackenzie, Makayla; many close friends and family. She was predeceased by her father, Dan, and son Reilly.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Brian King Centre in Warman on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, tributes can be made to the Reilly Ingram Memorial Fund via email at reillyingrammemorial@gmail.com
