Brenda Stroshein of Saskatoon passed away on October 10, 2026, at the age of 74. She was born in Saskatoon on January 22, 1952, to Sigurdur and Phyllis Ketilson and was proud of her Icelandic heritage.

Brenda spent her entire working life as a nursing care aide, caring for others with the same warmth and patience she gave her own family. She was happiest with a cup of coffee and a cigarette, laughing with friends and family. Her world was her boys, Aaron, David, and Kyle, and they were her greatest pride.

Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Aaron, David (Siobhan), and Kyle (Debbie); her grandchildren, Sydney, Thor, and Beau; and her siblings, Gail, Cheryl, Diane, Graham, and Kevin. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Warren, and her parents, Sigurdur and Phyllis.

Her family came from fire and ice, across the northern sea, 
And planted on the prairie an old and sturdy tree. 
She was the eldest, quick to tend, to soothe, to lift, to mend; 
She gave her years to others' care and laughter without end. 

Keep the coffee on, she'd tell us, pull a chair in, stay a while; 
No one left her kitchen table without a laugh, without a smile. 
Now the northern lights are dancing where her people gather round; 
They've poured her coffee, saved her chair, and laughter is the sound. 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Cherished Memories Funeral Services, 591 Centennial Dr. N. Martensville, Sk.
