Bertha Reddekopp

August 2, 1938 — November 7, 2023

REDDEKOPP, Bertha (Friesen) was born on August 2, 1938, to Jacob and Helen (Harder) Friesen, at Blumenheim, SK.

She was the oldest of nine children. Mom attended Renfrew School where she enjoyed writing poetry, sports, and especially high jump.

At a very young age, she left home and worked as a housekeeper for many families and at RUH.

Mom married Abe D. Reddekopp on July 7, 1956. After living in Saskatoon, they moved to the Reddekopp homestead near Schoenweise. They were blessed with 5 children. Mom looked after livestock while our dad worked in Saskatoon. She enjoyed her big gardens and cooking for family friends and spend many hours butchering. Mom was also an avid reader.

Mom accepted Jesus Christ as her own personal Lord and Saviour while a young mother.

Mom and Dad moved to Swanson in 1978, then later to Osler. When dad passed away, mom moved to the Swanson Villa. As her health deteriorated, she was moved to the LSCH, where she spent the last 8 years. Mom passed away peacefully at RUH on Nov. 7, 2023, after a brief illness.

She leaves behind her children, Frances Wagner, Cliff Reddekopp (Diane), Rob (Melissa), Mary Olson, and Linda Gibbs (Lionel); grandchildren Hailly, Raichelle (Jay), Nathaniel (Shelby), Emily, Cindy, Justin, Mandy, Colton, Dezirae, Jorden, Brent, Brandi, Megan, and Matthew; great-grandchildren Angelina, Taylor, Anya, Chase, Juliana, and Jasper.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; siblings Margaret, Mary, and Henry; son-in-law Neil Wagner, and numerous in-laws.

Funeral Service will be held at the Neuanlage Grace Mennonite Church, 50 Pembroke Rd, Neuanlage, SK., 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The service is available to view online through the church at https://youtube.com/live/LEI5iGaqzTs?feature=share

We would like to thank everyone for mom’s care, especially the staff at LSCH.
