Bea passed away in her 95th year after a very long, happy, and healthy life. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Bruce (Joanne) and Patricia (Dani); her grandchildren, Rachel (Taren), Travis, Dallas (Cadence), and Brody; and her great-grandchild, Calvin. Also mourning her loss are her sister, Dorothy Tjaden, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Nicholson, in 2004, and by her siblings Jean, May, and Bob.
Born and educated in the Roland community, Bea went on to earn her degree from the University of Winnipeg, where she met Ray. In 1961, they moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, to work and raise their family. Deeply rooted in faith and community, Bea gave her time to many church and community projects.
Bea was accomplished in many things. She was a lifelong reader and gardener, and an avid quilter. In recent years, she found special joy in reading and knitting, creating treasured pieces that she loved to share with others. She cherished time with family and the memories made at the family cottage at Emma Lake.
Bea will be dearly missed by her family and by the many friends who will remember her as joyful, strong willed, fiercely independent, and resilient. A life well lived. To us, Mom was truly an angel, her big heart drawing in all who were fortunate to know her.
The family is grateful for the care and support of the Saskatoon Convalescent Home.
A Celebration of Life notice will follow.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with Mrs. Nicholson's care and arrangements.
