Arthur (Art) Leonard Lane was born to Jacob and Tena Lehn on the family farm at Aberdeen, Saskatchewan, on November 3, 1940.

At a young age, Art accepted Christ as his Saviour and Lord. This was an important decision in his life, and he later professed his faith through baptism and became an active member of his church.

In December 1963, Art met his sweetheart, Ruth Elaine Keller. They were married the same year, on December 21st. He worked as a schoolteacher and in 1973 changed careers to pursue his passion for farming. He loved farming, purchasing land on Highway 41 northeast of Saskatoon. He spent his winters as a self-employed construction contractor. Later in life, he turned his building skills to charity work, completing many projects for neighbours, friends, churches, Bible camps, and other groups.

In 2020, Art began dealing with health challenges that continued to progress. On February 15, 2026, at age 85 he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

Art will be lovingly missed by his wife, Elaine, children, Patti (Scot) Kornak, Sandra (Vaughn) Davidson, and Brian (Kathy) Lane; Sisters Dorothy Wiebe and Laurene Lehn; Grandchildren Christina Kornak, Andrea Kornak, Delaney Davidson, Taryn (Kurtis) Willoughby, Marshall Lane, Wyatt Lane, and Jack Lane.

A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 107 McWillie Ave, Saskatoon, SK. Pastor Leyton Erickson will be officiating.

Donations in memory of Art may be made to Big River Bible Camp, Big River, SK, or to a charity of the donors’ choice.
