Obituary

Abram ("Abe") Miller - 1950-2026

On August 28th, Abe passed away peacefully at home in Hague, Sk. Abe was one of 12 siblings, predeceased by his father Henry, mother Katherina, brother Henry and sisters Margaret & Justina.

Abe’s early years of recall were on our farm near Blumenthal, Sk. The large family moved around a lot in those years with Abe finishing school in Osler. Some of this was the result of Dad looking for greener pastures and some of it was misfortune, as when our house burned down on the farm east of Warman.

In his early teens, Abe discovered a real knack and love for music. Self taught, he enjoyed playing and singing throughout his life. As a teenager in the 60s, he naturally took up the guitar but it did not end there. He was adept at anything he touched, his ability ranged from the accordion to the harp.

Abe had a lengthy career, working at several Saskatchewan farms in his early years. He also spent some time as an equipment operator in Alberta and at Weldon’s Concrete in Saskatoon. But the majority of his time was with the City of Saskatoon where he was employed in various activities, including asphalt operations and truck driving. Abe finished his career with the City of Saskatoon, retiring in 2017.

On October 14, 1976, Abe married Barbara (“Barb”) Janzen. They enjoyed nearly 41 years of marriage, becoming proud parents of sons Jason and Ryan. During their marriage, Abe and Barb took up motorcycling, spending time on the road together.

Several years after Barb’s passing, Abe reconnected with Annie Wiebe, his sweetheart from earlier times. On March 25, 2023, they were happily married; enjoying the golden years together. This included continuing to enjoy music and heading out on the road for some motorcycle time.

Abe decided to follow Jesus many years ago. He will be greatly missed by Annie, Jason, Ryan, the grandkids and his extended families. But one thing you can count on - if there is music in heaven, it won’t take long for Abe to pick up an instrument and join the band.

Funeral Service for Abe will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 in Osler Mission Chapel, 110-6th Avenue, Osler, Saskatchewan. Interment will take place at Warman Memorial Gardens.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Abe Miller.
